Your Breast Friends tm
If you have a microwave and 45 seconds, you can enjoy moist heat therapy with Your Breast Friends!

Moist heat therapy can be an effective aid in relieving breast pain due to clogged milk ducts or the milk let-down reflex during lactation.  Moist heat can also assist in expediting post-operative healing.

Your Breast Friendstm, with their innovative ring-shaped design, allow for the convenient application of warmth to the breasts, but not the sensitive nipple/areolar complex, even while performing other related tasks such as nursing, pumping or treating inverted nipples.  Breast shields used to treat inverted or cracked/sore nipples can be left in place while heat is applied prior to breastfeeding, right up to latch-on.

The application of moist heat to the breast before and during pumping or breastfeeding encourages a faster let-down of the breastmilk, helping to unclog milk ducts and decrease pumping/feeding time.  Continued application of warmth to the breast during pumping more closely simulates breastfeeding, resulting in increased milk volumes and more complete emptying of the breast in the same amount of time.  This is particularly helpful to the working mother, or mothers of multiples, but would help any breastfeeding mother.

For women who have undergone breast surgery, the immediate post-op period calls for the
application of cold to relieve swelling and pain.  Once the initial swelling has subsided, moist heat therapy encourages blood flow to the area, bringing increased oxygen and nutrients to speed healing and reduce discomfort.  Again, the ring-shaped design prevents application of heat to the nipple/areolar complex, which can be quite sensitive after surgical intervention to the breast.

Microwaves vary in strength, so your actual heating time may vary.  Never heat Your Breast Friends more than sixty seconds at one time.  Test the temperature on your inner wrist to be sure that it is comfortable for application to the breast.  NEVER puncture the outer covering or expose the product to open flame. DO NOT attempt to heat Your Breast Friends in the oven.  As with any therapy, always consult your physician.
